Somewhere within stumbling distance of Harvard Square, in the summer of 2016, I ate a plate of wings so unremarkable in a place so unidentifiable that a decade later I genuinely cannot tell you where this was. There’s a beer. There’s a blue-rimmed plate. There’s celery doing its usual thankless job. That’s the entire crime scene.<\/p>\n

I’d love to give you a name and a link here, truly. But the photo shows no sign, no logo, no receipt — just the quiet dignity of a wing eaten in a square packed with a thousand indistinguishable pubs. If this was you, and you remember serving me wings in Harvard Square in July 2016, please, I’m begging you, leave a comment.<\/p>\n

Almost certainly Grendel’s Den<\/a>, 89 Winthrop St, Cambridge \u2014 the coordinates land exactly on the address, and it’s been a Harvard Square basement dive-pub institution since 1971. Memory’s forgiven for going blank on this one.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
