Went about three years ago while in Buffalo visiting family. Honest take: it&#8217;s probably a little overrated at this point \u2014 the reputation has outgrown the actual experience a bit \u2014 but &#8220;a little overrated&#8221; here still means genuinely excellent wings. That&#8217;s not really a complaint.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Background<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The Bar-Bill opened in 1967 \u2014 named for original owners Barb and Bill Korzelius \u2014 in a building on Main Street that&#8217;s stood for over 150 years. Wings weren&#8217;t even on the menu at first; Beef on Weck was the only food. That changed in 1983, when Joe Giafaglione (a former Bell Aerospace engineer who&#8217;d bought the tavern a few years earlier) opened a kitchen and started methodically developing the wings and sauces the place is now known for.
