This one I can actually name, and I wish I couldn’t, because it means telling you it’s gone. The table sign is right there in the photo: 50¢ Wings Every Wednesday, 4–8, dine-in or take out, flavors ranging from Buffalo and Teriyaki to, memorably, “Roman” — six flavors for the price of admitting you have no plans on a Wednesday. This was CJ’s Northside Grill on Edgell Road in Framingham, a neighborhood joint that also sponsored the town’s youth baseball team, which is about as wholesome as a wing bar gets.
CJ’s closed for good in 2023 after twelve years in business — you can read the send-off on Patch. Fifty-cent Wednesday wings are one of those small, dumb, wonderful institutions that a town doesn’t realize it depended on until it’s a For Lease sign. This blog observes a moment of silence, then keeps eating.
