Worth Following: The Best Pizza & Wing Sites

Nobody eats wings and pizza in a vacuum. These are the reviewers, rankings, forums and institutions worth following if you care about this stuff as much as we do. Every link was checked when this page was written (October 2026). If one dies, tell us and we’ll swap it out.

🍕 Pizza

  • One Bite — Dave Portnoy’s pizza-review app, built on his Barstool “One Bite, everybody knows the rules” videos. A huge archive of reviews, scored to the decimal, plus fan ratings. Love him or hate him, nobody has reviewed more slices on camera.
  • Barstool Pizza Reviews — the full video archive behind One Bite, if you’d rather watch than scroll.
  • 50 Top Pizza — the Italian guide that ranks pizzerias worldwide, with separate USA and slice-shop lists. Its 2026 USA list put New York’s Una Pizza Napoletana at No. 1 again.
  • Scott’s Pizza Tours — New York pizza tours run by Scott Wiener, one of the most knowledgeable pizza people alive. The tours are the product; the enthusiasm is free.
  • PMQ Pizza Magazine — the trade magazine for pizzeria owners. Industry news, rankings coverage and the business side of the slice.
  • Pizza Today — the other big pizza trade publication, with recipes and operator advice that’s useful at home too.
  • I Dream of Pizza — an independent pizza blog running since 2008, mostly New York pizzerias, reviewed the old-fashioned way.
  • NEPA Pizza Review — more than a decade of reviews from Northeastern Pennsylvania, home of Old Forge “trays.” Proof that great regional pizza writing doesn’t need a big city.
  • Pizzamaking.com forum — the deep end for home pizza makers since 2003. If you have a dough question, someone there answered it in 2011, with hydration percentages.
  • r/Pizza — a huge, friendly feed of home and restaurant pies, and the fastest way to get a “why is my crust pale?” answer.

🍗 Wings

  • National Buffalo Wing Festival — Buffalo’s Labor Day weekend wing festival, where dozens of restaurants compete on sauce. The closest thing wings have to a world championship.
  • The Buffalo Wing Trail — Visit Buffalo Niagara’s official trail of wing landmarks, launched in 2018 for the dish born there in 1964. A couple of its stops (Gabriel’s Gate, Bar-Bill) have already shown up on this blog.
  • Anchor Bar — the Buffalo bar credited with inventing the Buffalo wing. Required reading, and eating, at least once.
  • Duff’s Famous Wings — Anchor Bar’s eternal rival, and many Buffalonians’ actual answer to “where should I get wings?” Respect the heat warnings.
  • First We Feast (Hot Ones) — home of Hot Ones, the interview show where celebrities answer questions while eating progressively hotter wings. Wings as a truth serum.
  • Halifax Wingman — a long-running single-topic wing review blog out of Nova Scotia, 100+ reviews deep. Exactly the kind of obsessive local coverage we’re here for.
  • r/wings — wing photos, sauce debates and the occasional ranch-versus-blue-cheese war.

🔥 Both

  • J. Kenji López-Alt — the Food Lab guy. His baking-powder oven wings and pizza science are the reason half the home cooks on this list get crisp skin and a decent crust.
  • Boston Globe “Slice City” — closer to home: the Globe’s 2026 pizza series, which we wrote up here.

Know a site that belongs here? Especially a small, obsessive local one. That’s the best kind.
